Nil is a published Astrophysicist and a Mechanical Engineer, currently working at Pratt & Whitney, where he applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help design, build and maintain jet engines.

After earning a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Dhanbad in India, Nil came to the US to pursue a PhD in Physics at the University of Florida (UF). There as a teaching assistant, he taught Physics with Calculus to Engineering undergraduates as well as Physics without Calculus to pre-medical students and during this time developed a love for teaching students. Nil strongly encourages his students to understand concepts from first principles instead of simply memorizing them. As someone who suffers from test taking anxiety, he knows that a lot of times students know the material and yet do poorly because they were nervous during a test. Only by mastering the fundamentals, he found that he was able to combat this nervousness. 

Besides work Nil spends his time with his wife, their three dogs (Calculus, Tensor and Mozart) and a Chinchilla named Einstein. Nil likes learning new things and tinkering with his Raspberry Pi (single board computer) building stuff.
