Heather earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Biblical Studies from Liberty University with an emphasis on theology and biblical integration. She is a dedicated high school teacher with a passion for helping students develop their written communication. With four years of experience teaching English 9 and Honors English, she specializes in guiding students through the writing process from brainstorming to final edits. She is fluent in MLA, APA and Chicago Turabian styles of writing as well as developmental techniques through the Institute for Writing Excellence (IEW). Whether it’s crafting compelling essays, refining grammar, reading comprehension or preparing for college applications, Heather is committed to building confidence and strong communication skills in every student.

In addition to English, Heather also teaches Spanish 2 at the high school level. She spent six years as a Spanish student herself and has been teaching it at Wylie Prep for four years. Her approach to foreign language is to build fluency through multiple study methods tailored to each student’s specific curriculum and learning style.

Heather is most passionate about student confidence. She believes that each student possesses the key to academic success through unlocking their own potential. As a teacher, this means empowering students through differentiated learning. Every student has unique learning styles. Individual tutoring provides the students with an opportunity to apply that style to understanding academic material creating confidence and success!
